About Us
Paramount Painting Ltd. has a very long history in the painting industry, dating back to 1974. In that year, Arnold Daling and Don Rempel created Remdal Painting and Decorating. Arnold soon became the sole owner of the company, and through many years of hard work and dedication the company grew into one of the largest painting companies in the lower mainland. In the late 1980s, Arnold saw an opportunity to expand into the Whistler area, and eventually made the decision to sell Remdal Painting and start a new company, Paramount Painting.
Paramount Painting grew quickly, working with companies like Amako Construction and Whistler Construction to paint many of the new hotels and townhouse complexes that were built in Whistler during the 1990s. By the year 2000, Arnold had owned and operated a painting company for over 25 years, and was looking for a change of pace.
Arnold’s oldest son David had started painting as soon as he was old enough to hold a brush, and spent the summers of his high school years in Whistler painting for Paramount, moving up full time in 1992. In the year 2000, David bought the company from Arnold, and Arnold moved up to a ranch to spend more time on horses.
In addition to his 25 plus years in the industry, David is a MPI Architectural Coatings Technologist (ACT) and is continuing his education through the Master Painter’s Institute and PDCA (Painting and Decorating Contractors of America)
